Team VIT Socials organizes Aatmabodh, a Computer Literacy Course for the Housewives and Senior Citizens. It's a 15 day course, conducted once in every semester. Over 150 participants and 150 volunteers invest around 2 hours of their daily schedule to make this event a grand success.
Team VIT Socials organizes Blood-D, a 2-day Blood Donation Camp within the college campus. A team of around 30 volunteers work for almost 15 days to bring about this event. Day 1 sees a Government Blood Bank whereas a Private Blood Bank organizes the camp on Day 2. The event collects around 400 blood bottle every semester.
Team VIT Socials encourages students to co-operate and co-ordinate with the Pune Police for the 11 days during Ganeshotsav and work as Police Mitras. Students work under the supervision of Police Offiers from either Bibwewadi or Swargate Police Station.
Team VIT Socials organizes a 7-day camp every winter, under the guidance of National Service Scheme (NSS) and VIT, Pune. Around 50 volunteers attend this camp. These volunteers are selected on the basis of their contribution towards Team Socials in the past year.
Under the Swachta Bharat Abhiyan launched by Shri. Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the guidance of NSS, The Team VIT Socials took up this opportunity. To work for the nation and to save and restore the beauty of historical places by cleaning the Shaniwaar Wada & the area surrounding it on Friday, 11th August, 2017.
Go Green is one of the biggest and the most awaited event of Team VIT Socials during Vishwakarandak. Students, in teams of 15-20 work for the betterment of the society. Cleanliness Drives, Streetplays, Health Check-Up Camps and various similar activities are conducted under Go Green.
Eklavya, the official pathNatya team of Team VIT Socials plays a very important role in making each and every event successful. The team has performed on various occassions such as Organ Donation Drive, Traffic Awareness Drive, Blood-D and Go Green and has been acknowledged by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Jalnekar, Hon'ble Dirctor, VIT Pune.
6th October every year is observed as World Traffic Awareness Day. Team VIT Socials, under the guidance of Pune Police, took up this opportunity to spread awareness amongst the public. Our volunteers performed a streetplay on the roads of Swargate and an awareness rally was organized, which involved the participation of many faculty members of VIT, Pune.
On 8th March, 2016, Team VIT Socials celebrated the International Women's Day by onrganizing a seminar and inviting some women, successful in their respective fields. The event became a grand success when over 1000 women gathered for the seminar.
